{"id":8966,"date":"2025-01-16T18:23:26","date_gmt":"2025-01-16T16:23:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kurentovanje.net\/?page_id=8966"},"modified":"2026-02-13T11:45:53","modified_gmt":"2026-02-13T09:45:53","slug":"karnevalska-povorka","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/kurentovanje.net\/eng\/karnevalska-povorka\/","title":{"rendered":"INTERNATIONAL CARNIVAL PARADE 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Reserve your time today for the highlight of Kurentovanje!<\/strong><br \/>\nThe streets and squares of Ptuj will be flooded with a parade of thousands of carnival masks and traditional characters, telling stories of the past, the future, and the present.<\/p>\n<p>In the parade, there will be <strong><u>3720 participants <\/u><\/strong>(84 groups and associations):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>36 Kurent and Korant groups and associations (1068 participants)<\/li>\n<li>18 etnographic groups and associations from Ptuj and nearby (1022 participants)<\/li>\n<li>21 carnival groups (1379 participants), with 15 competing carnival groups (934 participants)<\/li>\n<li>10 foreign groups from 7 countries: Gremany, Bulgaria,  France, Slovakia, Serbia, Romania, and Croatia (251 participants)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During the parade, hot-air balloons will fly over the town.<\/p>\n<p><strong>After the parade, a party with the Karneval Band and a DJ will follow at the Town Square.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From 10 AM to 6 PM, you are invited to <strong>the Kurent Fair<\/strong> At Glavni trg square (marketplace), where alongside culinary offerings you can also find souvenirs, a fair, and a variety of activities for the whole family.<br \/>\nBetween 4 and 6 PM, don't miss the <strong>Carnival Frolicking<\/strong> with enriched activities for children.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The International Carnival Parade is held under the honorary patronage of the Slovenian National Commission for UNESCO.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10197\" src=\"https:\/\/kurentovanje.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/unesco_natcom_slovenian_slv_B.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"86\" \/><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>VISIT PTUJ SUSTAINABLY:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Visit Ptuj sustainably \u2013 by <a href=\"https:\/\/potniski.sz.si\/\">train<\/a> or bus. They can watch the parade in front of the Minorite Monastery.
